The South Pasadena Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a hit-and-run driver who struck a family of three and their dog Sunday evening at the intersection of Orange Grove Boulevard and Columbia Street.

According to the South Pasadena Police Department, the 40-year-old husband, 30-year-old mother, their 4-month-old daughter and their family dog were on an evening walk Sunday at about 7:30 p.m. when an unknown suspect driving a newer model, dark colored sport utility vehicle turned from westbound Columbia Street onto southbound Orange Grove Avenue, striking the family.

The mother and daughter were both transported to a local hospital where they are being treated for injuries but are expected to recover. The father was treated for minor injuries at the scene although the family dog did not survive, according to police.

The wanted driver continued southbound on Orange Grove Boulevard without rendering aid, according to a statement from the South Pasadena Police Department. Anyone with information that might help police find the driver is urged to call the South Pasadena Police Department’s Detective Bureau at (626) 403-7280.
