Metro Offering Free Rides Late Christmas Eve & Early Christmas Morning

Metro Rail and Buses across Los Angeles County will offer free fares from 9:00 p.m. tonight – Christmas Eve – until 2:00 a.m. tomorrow morning – Christmas Day – in an effort to help encourage safe travel during the holidays. During that time, fare gates will be unlocked at all Metro Rail stations and buses will not request a fare from travelers, according to Metro.

Free fares during the holidays are not something new for the agency: Metro traditionally offers free rides annually during both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. The agency also says service will operate on a normal weekday schedule until Christmas day when they switch to a special Sunday/Holiday schedule.

More information on Metro’s New Year’s schedule is available at metro.net.
