Quiznos Robbery Ends in Tragic Shooting

user750-1254527437-lacsdA gunpoint robbery at a local Quiznos restaurant resulted in a tragic shooting.

At 3:20 p.m. this Tuesday, an unknown male suspect entered the Quiznos located on 1034 West Arrow Highway, San Dimas. He approached the cashier’s counter and demanded money from the business owner, threatening him with a semi-automatic handgun.

The business owner handed the suspect a bag of U.S. currency but afterwards followed the suspect outside to confront him. In the ensuing struggle, the suspect shot the business owner in the torso and immediately fled on foot in a southwest direction.

San Dimas Deputies arrived on scene after receiving an emergency call. The victim, a 63-year-old San Dimas male resident, was transported via helicopter to a hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

The suspect is a white or Hispanic male between the age of 25 and 30, approximately six feet tall and 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black cap, black shirt and dark short pants with a plaid pattern.
