PUSD Board Member Tom Selinske Running for PCC Board of Trustees

UntitledPasadena Unified School District board member Tom Selinske recently announced a desire to run for the Trustee position at Pasadena City College.

A spokesperson stated, “Selinske is back. He will definitely be on the ballot this November 3rd.”

Selinske is a two-term PUSD board member, elected in both 2007 and 2011. He also created the PCC Flea Market in 1977, which grew to generate over $150,000 a year for scholarships and student activities, and currently teaches “Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Management Strategy” at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. He also held community leadership roles in The Pasadena Educational Foundation and Leadership Pasadena.

Selinske stated that he wishes to create greater student access.

“We’re slowing our kids down through lack of access to key classes, which costs them time and money,” Selinske said. He claimed that his goal is to prepare PCC students for meaningful employment in today’s technology-driven world.
