Azusa Police say they’ve arrested 32 year old Reece Holliday of Riverside for auto theft, attempted carjacking, and elder abuse. Police say they found the man naked, beating up an elderly woman and trying to take her car when they responded to the 200 block of South Cerritos Avenue Monday a little after noon, about a hit and run crash. They used a TASER to subdue the man and took him into custody.
During their investigation, Azusa Police say they found out the same man had just stolen a vehicle from the 700 Block of East Arrow Highway and that the car theft victim and a witness were searching for and found him on S. Cerritos Avenue. They tried to capture him, but he fought them and ran off. Investigators say to get away he went into a 74 year old woman’s car and beat her up, as he tried to pull her out of the vehicle. Officials say the elderly woman suffered moderate injuries and that she was taken to a local hospital. Holliday was taken to the L.A. County Jail, pending arrraignment on $100,000 bail.
