Deadline for Free Community Academy Program by City of Rosemead and Sheriff’s Department, Temple Station Approaches

user750-1254527437-lacsdThe city of Rosemead and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department station in Temple City is hosting a Community Academy.

The Community Academy is a 7-week program dedicated to providing education about law enforcement matters and procedures, as well as to improve Temple Station’s relationship with the local community. Classes take place on Wednesdays, from Sept. 23 to Nov. 4, culminating in a final graduation ceremony.

Planned events include a presentation by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, a tour of the Twin Towers Custody Facility, patrol and sheriff traffic procedures, a patrol ride-a-long, and graffiti, gang and drug awareness education. Participants will also be able to learn about Rosemead’s governmental functions.

The application can be downloaded from the City of Rosemead’s website at www.cityofrosemead.org.

The deadline for applications is Sept. 9 at 6:00 p.m.  All applications will be screened and approved by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. The program is being presented free of charge, with 27 open spots.
