Pasadena Water and Power to Offer Laundry-to-Landscape Greywater Program

PASADENA, Calif.— Pasadena Water and Power is launching its Laundry-to-Landscape (L2L) Greywater Program, offering workshops, onsite support and incentives for installations.

The L2L program offers a greywater system where homeowners can choose to irrigate their landscape while laundering their clothes, saving from 9,000 to 14,000 gallons of water annually, worth about $55 to $86 per year to the average residential customer.

The program is open to single-family residential customers. Pasadena Water and Power will offer monthly, in-depth training workshops starting Sept. 12 on installing the system. Workshop attendees will also receive an $80 voucher toward the purchase of the L2L greywater system components, as well as resources for onsite technical assistance. The typical costs for parts for a L2L system range from $120 to $250, depending on the size of a resident’s landscape.

“With the previous success of the turf removal incentive program and drought-tolerant landscaping classes, we are pleased to offer customers another tool to help them do their part to conserve water,” said Eric Klinkner, Pasadena Water and Power Interim General Manager.
