West Covina Teen Threatens to Kill Teacher, Cops

A West Covina High School student with a history of making threats told his teacher he was going to shoot and kill her. The 15 year old male student was mumbling in class and shouting profanities out loud. The teacher asked him several times to stop cursing in class with no success. At one point, another student asked the suspect to stop. The suspect replied by saying he was going to kill the teacher. The teacher asked the student to leave the class and followed him out. Outside of the classroom, the student told the teacher he was going to shoot her in the face and watch her die.

The School Resource Officer assigned to West Covina High School responded to the classroom and the suspect attempted to assault the officer. The officer was able to control the suspect without the use of force and placed the suspect under arrest. During the investigation, the suspect told the officer he was going to shoot as many officers as possible from his bedroom window. The suspect said, “I am going to kill as many officers as I can before they kill me.”

The suspect was taken to a hospital where he underwent a psychiatric evaluation. Upon his release from the hospital, the suspect was booked at the West Covina Police Department Jail and then transported to Los Padrinos Juvenile Detention Center.

The suspect is facing Criminal Threats charges, Threats against a School Official charges, and Assault on a Peace Officer.
