Ideal Youth Provides Internships & Community Service for Graduation Opportunities

Ideal Youth Inc. is currently accepting applications for their 2011 summer youth job training and internship program.  Ideal Youth is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy through experimental, hands-on advanced job training.

Eligible candidates are high school juniors, senior and college freshman with a minimum 2.0 GPA and have actively participated in a community youth program.

The program consists of a series of interactive advanced job preparedness workshops provided by business professionals and placement in internships with Ideal Youth business partners.  Accepted students are paired with companies based on the interest and career goals indicated on their entrance applications.  In previous years students have been placed with the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks, City of Pasadena Fire Department, Wells Fargo, and the Office of Senator Carol Liu to name a few.  In addition to the training and internship placement, students will have opportunities to create and run businesses.  These opportunities provide valuable entrepreneurial and life experiences.

“This is an exciting, fun and worthwhile experience for our youth!” says Kardia Pinckney, President of Ideal Youth, “The program best fits young people who are looking for an opportunity to receive internships and community service for graduation and real world, hands on learning experience about their aspiring career plan.”

Upon successful completion of the entire program students will receive recognition for their accomplishments on center court at STAPLES Center during the 3rd Annual City of Pasadena Night with the WNBA Los Angeles Sparks, and a refurbished laptop.

The application deadline is March 21, 2011, visit www.idealyouth.orgto download the application and a list of frequently asked questions.  Companies who are interested in becoming an Ideal Youth business partner can contact Kardia Pinckney at [email protected].
