CalTrans District 7 has announced road closures for two of the most frequently traversed freeways in Los Angeles County this week.

First, ramps and a few lanes on the 10 freeway in Baldwin Park and West Covina will be closed intermittently Monday, July 25 to Thursday, July 28 to work on constructing a High Occupancy Vehicle lane. The following closures will take place:

10 East

  • 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Puente Ave and Azusa Ave on-ramps
  • 10 pm. to 7 a.m. – Up to 3 lanes between Puente Ave and Citrus St

10 West

  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Sunset Ave off-ramp
  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Vincent Ave on-ramp
  • 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Vincent Ave on-ramp and Sunset Ave off-ramp

Additionally, CalTrans has scheduled that the eastbound Pacific Ave/West Covina Pkwy off-ramp be closed through November 2016.

Next, As if the second #RoseJam from July 29 to August 1 wasn’t enough, CalTrans District 7 announced that parts of the 210 freeway in Pasadena would be closed for pavement rehabilitation work Monday, July 25 to Thursday, July 28 this week. Closures are scheduled for the following times and locations:

210 East

  • 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to 3 lanes between Lowell Ave and Lake Ave
  • 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. – Lowell Ave on-ramp

210 West

  • 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to 3 lanes between Lowell Ave and Lake Ave

CalTrans believes nighttime closures will reduce the amount of necessary traffic delays and give construction crews and motorists the best safety possible while doing the rehabilitation. CalTrans has warned residents and local businesses to expect lots of construction noise, but nothing past state and federal volume limits. Meanwhile, motorists are advised to take alternate plans of action in advance of the closures.
