A female pedestrian was struck by a westbound Metrolink train and pronounced dead on arrival by paramedics in La Verne Wednesday afternoon.
La Verne Police officers responded to a call in the Arrow Hwy/San Dimas Canyon Rd. area regarding a Metrolink train striking a person walking on the train tracks at about 4:18 p.m. The collision delayed Metrolink train services for about 40 minutes, but there were no reported injuries to passengers on the train. Paramedics confirmed the victim was dead by the time officers arrived, and the body was sent to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office for identification. The Office has identified the victim as Christine Marie-Santiago Humphrey, a 32-year-old Caucasian.
At the moment, Humphrey’s motivations for walking on the train tracks are unknown, and an autopsy is pending.
