#LASD Shooting Death Investigation, 17800 block East Newburgh Street, unincorporated Azusa

Los Angeles Countcrime-scene-tape-3y Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man that occurred on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at 10:58 P.M. in the 17800 block of East Newburgh Street, unincorporated Azusa.

Homicide detectives learned San Dimas Sheriff’s Department personnel were dispatched to the location in response to a “Gunshot Victim” call.

When deputies arrived at the residence they found 30-year-old Paul Arthur Espinosa, a resident of unincorporated Azusa, laying unresponsive on the  living room couch and suffering from gunshot wounds to his chest.

Victim Espinosa, who lived with his mother, walked out of the house to the front yard.  His mother heard gunshots and moments later her son staggered back into the house and told her to call 911 because he had been shot.  Espinosa then collapsed onto the couch.

Victim Espinosa succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is no suspect information and no other victims were found.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information.
