The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announces that a South Pasadena man was sentenced on August 23, 2017 to 25 years to life in state prison for killing his 5-year-old son whose remains were found months after he vanished.
Earlier this month, Aramazd Andressian Sr., 35, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree murder. Andressian was sentenced by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Cathryn Broughman in an Alhambra courtroom.
Deputy District Attorney Craig Hum of the Major Crimes Division prosecuted the case.
Prosecutors said the boy was last seen with his father, who was found unconscious the next day at a park in South Pasadena. It is believed that 5-year-old Aramazd Andressian Jr. was killed on or about April 21.
The boy’s body was discovered in the Lake Cachuma area of Santa Barbara County, more than two months after the boy disappeared. The defendant was then arrested on June 23 in Las Vegas and extradited to Los Angeles County.
Case GA097764 was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
