Man Pleads Guilty to Stabbing

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today that a 21 year old man has pleaded guilty to stabbing two men in Covina two years ago. The defendant, Louis Vasquez of La Puente, pleaded no contest in court today to two felony counts of willful, deliberate and premeditated attempted murder.

Vasquez also admitted to special allegations, that he personally inflicted great bodily injury during which he used a knife. He also admitted that the attacks happened for the benefit and at the direction of a criminal street gang, with the overall intent of further promoting criminal conduct by gang members.

The defendant, who faces life in state prison with the possibility of parole after 21 years, is scheduled to be sentenced on December 5th, at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Pomona Branch. Vasquez had stabbed two separate men in a Covina parking lot in the 100 block of North Azusa Avenue on January 31, 2015, according to Deputy District Attorney John Rogers.
