The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced on Wednesday that a 40-year-old man has been sentenced to 75 years to life in state prison for molesting a minor and sexually assaulting a woman over the span of nearly six years.
The defendant, Fadi Haddad of Glendora, was found guilty by a jury on August 21st, of five felony counts that includes three counts of lewd acts upon a child and two counts of forcible rape. The Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Mike Camacho, ordered Haddad to register as a lifetime sex offender.
Haddad had begun sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl in October 2009, said the Deputy District Attorney Michael Matoba of the Victim Impact Program who prosecuted the case, and the abuse continued for five years, he also added.
Authorities also discovered the defendant had also been sexually abusing an adult family member of the child victim for almost a year. Fadi Haddad at the time was working as an Army reservist out of Ford Hood in Texas, and was immediately extradited to the Los Angeles County to face criminal prosecution in May 2016.
