Lance Anthony Semkus, Charged with Attempted Murder, Robbery, Etc.

Lance Anthony Semkus, 73 years old, faces one felony count each of willful, deliberate and premeditated attempted murder, mayhem, attempted second-degree robbery and two counts of cruelty to an animal. He was scheduled in court for arraignment on attempted murder and animal cruelty charges. He is also facing charges which include allegations of great bodily injury and use of a knife.

He is charged with attempting to steal a woman’s dog in front of a pet store on October 23rd, then later he allegedly approached another woman and slashed her throat. She fought him off but is alleged to have suffered severe injuries to her neck and hand.

It was later discovered that his two dogs had been killed. If convicted as charged, he faces a possible maximum sentence of more than 32 years to life in state prison.  His bail is set at $10 million.
