Oceanside Man Convicted of Kidnapping and Murdering Infant Girl

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that an Oceanside man has been convicted of kidnapping and murdering an infant girl in Long Beach and other crimes. Anthony Ray McCall was found guilty of seven felony counts, one count each of first-degree murder, kidnapping and attempting kidnapping, and four counts of attempted murder. The jury found true all of the allegations in the case NA101490, including gun use and infliction of great bodily harm. McCall is scheduled to be sentenced on March 19th in Department S20 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Long Beach Branch and is facing multiple life sentences.

The victim, 3-week old Eliza De La Cruz was taken from her Long Beach home on January 3rd, 2015, and her body was discovered the following day in a trash bin in San Diego County; he had also attempted to kill her mother, father, and uncle. The suspect also attempted to kill a 23-year old woman, then kidnap her 4-month old son in an El Segundo motel on February 6th, 2015.

McCall’s co-conspirator, Giseleangelique Rene D’Milian pleaded no contest to one count of first-degree murder in Eliza’s death and two counts of attempted murder for trying to kill Cruz’s father and uncle, she was then sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison. The D.A. who prosecuted the case, Deputy District Attorney Cynthia Barnes, said D’Milian orchestrated the plot to secure two babies, after telling her boyfriend she was pregnant with twins despite the truth that she wasn’t. And then a third defendant, Todd Damon Boudreaux, also pleaded guilty, to one count of accessory after the fact in October 2016, he is scheduled to be sentenced on March 19th.
