The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that Malcolm Smith, dob 2/27/94, has been charged with having inappropriate sexual relations with a teenage student for nine months. Smith has been charged with 10 felony counts in case NA108689: nine counts of unlawful sexual intercourse and one count of oral copulation of a person under 18. He was arraigned in Department S01 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Long Beach Branch. Deputy District Attorney L. Christmas Brookens of the Victim Impact Program was assigned to the case.
Smith was the wide receiver football coach at Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach at the time of the alleged crimes. Between November 2014 and August 2015, Smith had sex with a female high school student who was 15 years old at the time. The victim then told law enforcement about the alleged sexual relationship, in December 2017, and after further investigation, authorities filed a case for an arrest warrant on March 12, 2018. He faces a maximum possible sentence of nine years in state prison and lifetime sex offender registration.
