Louisiana High School Teacher Pleads Guilty to Charges of Child Enticement

Louisiana high school chemistry teacher Logan Procell, 25, has pleaded guilty to charges of coercion and enticement of a minor.

In September 2017, Procell first contacted an 11-year-old Massachusetts girl on Snapchat, according to the Massachusetts Department of Justice.  Evidence shows that Porcell exchanged over 1600 messages with the girl, many of which exhibited sexually explicit language. In the messages, Procell requested pornographic images of the girl while also sending her pornographic images of himself. He also asked to meet with the girl in order to have sex.

Procell faces sentencing of ten years to life imprisonment, a fine of $250,000, and five years to life of supervised release for the charges of coercion and enticement of a minor. In addition, he faces another ten years of imprisonment, a fine of $250,000, and three years of supervised release for the transference of obscene material to a minor.

The case against Procell is part of Project Safe Childhood. Created by the Department of Justice in 2006, the project is a nationwide initiative aimed at protecting minors from exploitation and abuse. The goal of the project is to identify, apprehend individuals like Mr. Procell who exploit minors. The project also finds and rescues victims of such exploitation.
