The Pasadena Police Department has announced that they will be conducting a zero-tolerance DUI saturation patrol Saturday night from 8:00pm-3:00am, according to a recent press release. They will be looking for drunk and impaired drivers who post a safety threat to the public.
The Pasadena Police Department said in a statement that, “DUI programs are a useful and effective tool for achieving the Pasadena Police Department’s goal of detecting and removing impaired drivers from our streets, while improving traffic safety, saving lives and preventing injuries”. The Police Department says they encourage people who plan on consuming alcoholic beverages to either pick a designated driver to take them home or simply call a cab service.
Anyone who sees a drunk driver on the road is encouraged by Police to call 911. Funding for the Pasadena Police Department’s DUI saturation patrol was provided by the State of California’s Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The specific location of the saturation patrol was not announced by Police.
