Pasadena Police Chief Phillip Sanchez says the department plans to increase Security Measures for large scale events in the city following the bombings at the Boston Marathon earlier this week. Police say people have asked authorities what they’ll be doing for events taking place in Pasadena, and they say even though no threats have been made toward the city or any specific venue, the police department’s Event Planning Section and Counterterrorism Unit have worked with other city departments to create a plan of action for each event.
Authorities say the plans include crowd control measures, evacuation plans, and emergency response, along with staying in communication with State and Federal law enforcement agencies.
Sanchez says the department continues to ask the public’s help in reporting any suspicious activity to police, part of what he says has always been included in their policing philosophy of being proactive and engaging citizens to help with policing efforts.
