Another rainy week has just passed by for us in Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley. And while most of it might have been spent indoors staying dry from the rain, plenty of news stories still took place! Here’s a look at the top stories from this past week, right here on CrownCityNews.com:
- The continued rain has caused evacuations in La Canada and other cities in the San Gabriel Valley and Southern California although most of them have been lifted as of Friday evening. While forecasts say that tomorrow will begin to show us drying, another smaller storm is expected early next week. Finally, Pasadena Officials said that a shelter location had been identified in Pasadena, and although it was not actually used by evacuated residents, it was ready to be occupied in the case that other in-use shelters lost power or overflowed. More information and useful links were posted by CCN’s Tami DeVine in this article earlier today.
- Tournament of Roses officials announced the theme for the 2011 Tournament of Rose Parade earlier this morning: “Building Dreams, Friendships and Memories”. Also came was the announcement that Jeffrey Throop was named the new president for next year’s parade.
- Pasadena Community Network, the network which Crown City News is aired on each week, is making an official offer to Tonight Show host Conan O’Brien to move his show right here to Pasadena. As of Friday, PCN is at 1% in the online poll on where Conan should move next. You can watch the video offer to Conan as well as vote for him to move his show to Pasadena right here.
