Azusa investigators released a video of a car suspected of being involved in a purse-snatching robbery case from January.

VIDEO: Suspect Vehicle In Purse Snatch Robbery From Azusa

In the video, a dark colored Toyota 4-Runner SUV drives away from a Chipotle Restaurant at 860 E. Alosta Avenue in Azusa. Police say the SUV could be the run-away vehicle involved on the robbery of a purse from a diner eating at the rear area of the restaurant on January 29th, about 6:45 p.m.

Investigators report that two female suspects, driving the SUV, parked behind the victim. One of the suspects exited the car and grabbed the victim’s purse, which was near her feet, but on the ground.  The suspect then ran back to the vehicle, where the second one began slowly driving away. The victim chased after the vehicle and while attempting to retrieve her purse was run over by the SUV. The suspects fled the scene with the victim’s purse.

Authorities say the victim was transported to an area hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses of the incident or anyone with information about the vehicle or suspects may call the Azusa Police Department at (626) 812-3200, or send an email to Detective C. Franks at [email protected], with reference case number 2014-0428.
