Weeks after the City Manager released the names of the secret panel selected to review the potential candidates for the next Chief of police, city residents are voicing their concerns over the process.
Watch this week’s story on CCN.
City Manager Michael Beck met with community members at the joint meeting held by the Fair Oaks and Lincoln Avenue Project Area Committees. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the selection process Mr. Beck used in appointing the once secret Police Chief advisory panel and the criteria used by the panel to narrow down the police chief candidates to the three semi-finalist.
Crown City News Reporter Luna Petty has taped interviews with interim chief Chris Vicino and Councilmember Jacque Robinson regarding the City Manager’s selection process and community comments. These interviews and portions of the community meeting will be aired on Monday, April 6th at 6:30pm, Charter Cable, Channel 32 The Arroyo Channel, on the Pasadena Community Network and online at www.crowncitynews.com.
“The airing of the community meeting and interviews is imperative for the community at large. We have conversations, emails and bloggers citywide criticizing the selection process and Northwest leaders for their actions. This will dispel the rumors, assumptions and accusations circulating throughout Pasadena” says Ishmael Trone Chair of the Fair Oaks Project Area Committee.
We will take live phone calls, your tweets and facebook posts during the program. You can start posting any questions or comments you’d like CCN to address right now on this blog.
