The focus is on traffic and pedestrian safety.
Monterey Park Police will be conducting special traffic enforcement tomorrow, August 6th, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Police say that extra officers will be on task to focus on traffic and pedestrian safety.
Law enforcement agencies say that motorists who fail to yield to pedestrians and those walking into traffic are a serious safety concern that puts everyone on the road at risk. For that reason, police ask pedestrians to always stay alert and avoid distracted driving.
The California Office of Traffic Safety is funding this program with a grant through the National Highway Safety Administration.
