Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, City of Pasadena to Present 2nd Business and Economic Summit

The Economic and Business Development Committee of the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce invites leaders of business and industry in Pasadena discuss our local economy, their industries and the future of business in Pasadena at the second Pasadena Business and Economic Summit on Thursday, October 23, 2014, from 11:30am to 1:30pm at Brookside Golf Club at 1133 Rosemont Avenue in Pasadena.

Free parking is available in the lots adjacent to the east side of the Rose Bowl. Cost to attend the inaugural Pasadena Business and Economic Summit is $50 and includes the program, lunch and valet parking.

A corporate table of eight, which includes signage and recognition on the program, costs $400.

The City of Pasadena and the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce join forces to present the discussion of the economic health and the future of business in Pasadena. The Pasadena Business and Economic Summit is generously underwritten by the City of Pasadena.

Kimberly Ritter-Martinez economist with the Kyser Center for Economic Research at the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation will provide an overview of the regional and local economy and discussion of issues, concerns and trends for 2014-15.

The Pasadena Business and Economic Summit will include presentations by leaders of our local construction and engineering community, real estate development, the creative economy, technology and research and development and more.

Featured panelists include:

  • Salma Hepp, chief economist with the California Association of Realtors who will discuss trends in residential and commercial real estate.
  • Jerry McCall, senior vice president of operations for Kaiser Permanente will talk about the healthcare industry, its impact in Pasadena and the region as well as issues, concerns and trends happening in the industry.
  • Mike Ross, chief executive officer of the Pasadena Center Operating Company which operates the Pasadena Convention Center and Convention and Visitors Bureau will discuss the impact of the hospitality industry on the local economy as well as the current hotel room planning and building boom in Pasadena and more.
  • Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard will provide a brief update on City finances and priorities. Invitations were mailed in early-September.
