The Pomona Police Department has been awarded over $487,000 in traffic safety grants from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
Funds from these grants will be used to address a year-long program of special enforcement and public awareness efforts to reduce and prevent traffic related deaths and injuries.
In addition, we will continue our outreach program to protect child passengers in Pomona through our car safety seat program. This program provides classroom education on child safety seat usage and awareness and check-up events to install and inspect car safety seats.
Funding for these programs will run from October 2014 through September 2015.
