Pasadena Police have identified a fourth suspect in the beating and robbery of an 87 year old man near the Rose Bowl Friday, March 27th around 5am. Investigators are asking for the public’s help in finding 19 year old Idalene Yvannia Alvarado of Rowland Heights. Police say Alvarado is a Hispanic female who may have joined 3 young men in beating up the elderly man as he was walking for exercise on West Drive near Salvia Canyon Road.
Police received tips about Alvarado, and along with members of the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, Pasadena Police detectives identified her. This comes on the heels of another suspect Gabriel Anthony Mixco of Rowland Heights, turning himself into police after Pasadena Police Chief Phillip Sanchez spoke out on-camera about the crime, warning the remaining two suspects to turn themselves in. Police had already arrested the first two suspects. Mixco walked into the Police station after that announcement.
Surveillance video showed the 4 suspects allegedly using the victim’s credit card at a Pasadena gas station right after the robbery and beating. Police say they had stolen the victim’s pouch which held a credit card and personal identification. Authorities had initially described the suspects as:
1. Hispanic male, 20’s medium build, dark colored hair and beard and wearing a white t-shirt, light colored shorts and tennis shoes.
2. Hispanic male, teens to early twenties, thin built, short black hair and wearing a dark hooded sweater with circular design on the front, light colored shorts and black and white tennis shoes.
3. Hispanic male, 20’s stocky build, thick eyebrows, white t-shirt, dark colored pants.
4. Hispanic female, teens, long brown hair, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with white lettering on the front.
Their vehicle is described as a 2003-04 Honda Accord Coupe, black with a sunroof.
Other people out exercising near the Rose Bowl found the victim laying on the ground and called 911. The victim was hospitalized and is in critical, but stable condition with major injuries to his head.
Police are asking anyone with information about the location of Idalene Yvannia Alvarado to call Pasadena Police Detective Timothy Bundy at (626) 744-3953, the Pasadena Police Dispatch non-emergency number at (626) 744-4241 after hours, or to report information anonymously at lacrimestoppers.com (insert key word Pasadena).
