PASADENA, Calif. — Pasadena Police Department will be hearing public comments about the new body camera policy during the upcoming Public Safety Committee (PSC) meetings in November and December. A prior public PSC meeting took place Oct. 19.
The police department encourages the public to provide input for the usage considerations of the body cameras that are to be worn by Pasadena police officers. Subjections for discussion include the handling, storage and retention length of video recordings, when body worn cameras should be activated or de-activated, viewing of recorded media files, public access to videos and privacy concerns.
The body camera policy is expected to take place in late 2016.
