The FBI San Antonio Field Office is offering a $25,000 reward for information that will lead to the arrest and capture of fugitive Juan Alberto Mendez, 47.
Mendez has allegedly been associated with the Gulf Cartel and is wanted for possible involvement in drug racketeering and murder in aid of racketeering between 2015 and 2018 in the states of Indiana and Texas.
A federal arrest warrant was issued for Mendez on September 23, 2015 by the US District Court for the Northern District of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was then wanted for forfeiture and conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute heroin, cocaine, and marijuana.
Another federal arrest warrant was issued for him on May 11, 2018 by the US District Court of Houston, Texas. This time he was charged with conspiracy to particpate in racketeering activity, attempted murder in aid of racketeering, murder in aid of racketeering, and kidnapping resulting in death.
Mendez is described as having brown hair and eyes, is approximately 5’7 to 5’8 in height, and 189 to 250 pounds. He has scars on his abdomen, chin, head, right knee, and right forearm as well as a mole on his right cheek. He is known to wear glasses .
Mendez is a domestic and international flight risk. He should be considered to be armed and dangerous.
