Michael Daniel Mayberry, 37, of Lake Los Angeles has been found guilty of fatally shooting his wife, reports the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.
On February 25, 2018 Mayberry argued with his wife Sandy Mayberry, 28, in their home. During the argument Mayberry’s wife announced that she was leaving him. When she began walking out of the house he shot her four times in the back of the head and then once more in the head after she had crawled away from him and onto the lawn.
The couple’s four children were and their maternal grandmother were present in the home at the time of the shooting. They are unharmed.
Mayberry was sentenced to 50 years in state prison for one felony count each of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.
