This time, street lanes are being closed for the installation of sewer lines and the construction of two new bridges, meaning that traffic should worsen well into 2015 in those areas.
The San Gabriel Police Department has announced another traffic impact in the city of San Gabriel.
Since last week, Ramona Street has been reduced to one lane in each direction in order to have sewer siphon connection completed in the south region of the railroad. More specifically, north and southbound traffic lanes on Ramona St., between Main St. and Grand Ave., have been intermittently closed from September 22 until December 31, 2014.
Though the street will remain open and one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times, motorists should use caution, and be aware of more traffic delays in this area.
Another project that began yesterday was the continual ACE San Gabriel Trench Project – which now includes the construction of two new bridges, according to a San Gabriel Valley press release.
- Mission Road bridge construction started on September 29, with completion anticipated in April, 2015. During construction Mission Road will be closed at the railroad crossing and traffic will be detoured along Del Mar Avenue, Broadway, Junipero Serra Drive and West Mission Road.
- The San Gabriel Boulevard bridge is tentatively scheduled to start construction by mid-October with completion in June 2015. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained throughout the construction period.
