Temple City Crime Blotter from July 13 to July 19

July 13, 2014

  • A Residential Burglary occurred on 7/13/14 at 1:30 p.m., in the 5300 block of Persimmon Avenue. Someone entered the victim’s residence by forcing open the front door and stole his personal property. There was a witness who saw a silver sports utility vehicle parked in the victim’s driveway with two males (possible Hispanics) loading property into the vehicle. There was also a male seen in the area going door to door at the time of the burglary.
  • A Parole Warrant arrest of a MW/38 was made at 10:00 a.m., in the 10000 block of Olive Street. The suspect was detained for vehicle code violations on a bicycle and arrested for the warrant. The suspect is a resident of Rosemead.

July 14, 2014

  • A Stolen Vehicle occurred between 7/13/14 11:00 p.m. and 7/14/14 6:00 a.m., in the 9000 block of Emperor Avenue.
  • A Petty Theft occurred at 6:00 p.m., in the 6000 block of Temple City Boulevard. The victim attempted to purchase a dog via the internet and was instructed to purchase a “re-load-it” credit card to complete the transaction. The victim complied, but the suspect demanded an additional several thousand dollars for transportation of the animal. The victim refused to send the additional money and has not received a refund or the dog.

July 15, 2014

  • A Vandalism occurred between 1:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m., in the 6000 block of Ivar Avenue. Someone made deep scratches throughout the entire exterior of the vehicle.
  • A Residential Burglary occurred between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., in the 6400 block of Sultana Avenue. Someone entered the victim’s residence through the rear door while they were asleep, but did not take anything. Entry was made by breaking a small window on the back door and unlocking the door.
  • A Residential Burglary occurred between 8:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., in the 9900 block of Workman Avenue. Someone entered the victim’s residence through the back door and stole personal property.

July 16, 2014

  • A Vandalism was reported at 9:22 a.m., in the 5600 block of Cloverly Avenue. The victim said someone broke two lens covers on their parking lot lamp posts.
  • A Vehicle Burglary occurred between 7/15/14 10:30 p.m. and 7/16/14 4:35 a.m., in the 10500 block of Olive Street. Someone stole the victim’s purse and other property.

July 17, 2014

  • An Attempt Residential Burglary occurred at 10:43 a.m., in the 5800 block of Sultana Drive. The victim saw a female knocking at his front door loudly for several minutes, but didn’t answer. A short time later, the victim heard his rear sliding glass door shatter, when he shouted and ran outside. The suspect fled the location.
  • A Residential Burglary occurred between 9:15 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., in the 6300 block of Encinita Avenue. Someone entered the residence through the rear door and stole personal property.
  • A Stolen Vehicle was reported at 5:03 p.m., in the 5500 block of Rosemead Boulevard.
  • A Residential Burglary occurred between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., in the 6200 block of Golden West Avenue. The victim said someone entered the residence through the bathroom window and stole personal property.
  • A Residential Burglary occurred between 4/16/14 and 7/3/14, in the 9200 block of Las Tunas Drive. The victim said she noticed items missing from her residence throughout a several month period, but did not file a police at the time.

This includes significant crimes and is not inclusive of all crimes in Temple City.
